The first special cover of the society was released on the occasion of the Birth Centenary of Late Smt. Indira Gandhi. As she was born at Allahabad, it was most apt place of issue to commemorate the event/day. The cover was released at the Head Post Office. The chief guests for the occasion were Mrs. Rupa Shankar and Mrs. Samina Naqvi. Mr. Narsingh the SSRM of HPO Alld and Mr. Pramod Kumar Bansal released the cover. 1,000 numbered covers were released. The members of the society and philatelists from Allahabad were also present to grace the occasion.
